Dr. John Coyne is a longtime veterinarian, practice owner, and leader in the veterinary profession with more than 50 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Throughout his career, he has remained passionate about providing exceptional care, advancing the veterinary profession, and supporting the next generation of veterinarians.

A proud graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Coyne has maintained a strong connection to his alma mater through decades of involvement and philanthropic support. His contributions have supported scholarships, endowed professorships, facility improvements, and other initiatives benefiting veterinary students and the profession. In 2025, the University recognized his longstanding commitment by naming the Dr. John A. Coyne South Clinic in his honor.

In 2026, Dr. Coyne continued his entrepreneurial journey with the opening of Prime Veterinary Center in North Aurora, Illinois. The independently owned practice was created to offer a modern and accessible approach to veterinary care, combining comprehensive primary care with advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, including MRI, CT, ultrasound, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, and reproductive services.

Dr. Coyne’s approach to veterinary medicine has always centered on creating opportunities: for pets to receive exceptional care, for clients to have greater access and choice, and for veterinary professionals to have the tools and support they need to thrive. Even after more than five decades in the profession, he remains passionate about what lies ahead and continues to look for new ways to contribute to the future of veterinary medicine.
