Caring for animals. Supporting those who heal them.
The Spuds MacKenzie Pet Foundation expands access to veterinary care and supports the people and organizations that make that care possible.
Who we are
The Spuds MacKenzie Pet Foundation brings partnerships, funding, and resources together to help animals receive needed veterinary care, support families facing barriers to that care, and strengthen the well-being of veterinary professionals and teams.
Why the Spuds MacKenzie Pet Foundation?
Spuds MacKenzie has long been a name people recognize. Today, that familiar personality is taking on a new purpose through the Spuds MacKenzie Pet Foundation.
And there’s a new generation coming along for the ride. Spuds Jr. will help bring a fresh, approachable personality to pet health and the Foundation’s belief that caring for pets can be engaging, accessible, and even fun.
Doing good never looked so cool.
Our work
The Foundation’s work is currently centered on three areas.
Community Veterinary & Animal Care
Supporting eligible nonprofit organizations that provide or support direct veterinary care and related animal care for animals in need, including charitable care for owned pets whose families face significant financial hardship.
Application details and timing will be announced when the first grant cycle opens.
Veterinary Clinics: The Spuds Fund
The Spuds Fund is the Foundation’s veterinary clinic grant program, providing restricted charitable funding to eligible veterinary clinics to help provide needed care for owned pets whose families face significant financial hardship.
Veterinary Professional Well-Being
Supporting carefully vetted organizations and programs that strengthen the well-being and resilience of veterinary professionals and teams.
Who we serve
The Spuds MacKenzie Pet Foundation serves animals in need, owned pets and families facing barriers to veterinary care, the community organizations and veterinary clinics working to meet those needs, and the veterinary professionals and teams who provide that care.
How we work
We provide funding, build partnerships, and work with eligible nonprofit organizations, veterinary clinics, and organizations with specialized expertise.
Foundation resources are directed through approved programs and partnerships using defined eligibility criteria, funding guidelines, and oversight designed to support responsible and meaningful charitable impact.
Help make care possible
When people come together, more pets can get the care they need, more families can avoid having to give up a pet because veterinary care is out of reach, and veterinary professionals can feel better supported in the work they do.
There are many ways to be part of the impact, whether you are an individual who cares about animals, a veterinary practice, a business, or an organization looking to make a difference.
For veterinary practices, businesses, and organizations, opportunities may include the veterinary treat initiative, sponsorships, cause-related partnerships, in-kind support, and other ways to work with the Foundation.
Better access to care. Stronger support for those providing it.
Helping pets stay healthy and families stay together.
The Spuds MacKenzie Pet Foundation brings together people, partnerships, and resources to help ensure that when cost or circumstance creates a barrier to veterinary care, pets can still get the help they need and veterinary teams have support to provide it.
